Wireless phones?

I called the wireless company that sells the bluetooth adaapters for MB and the lady told me that they were not authorized to sell sprint phones but that people had bought the bluetooth adapter for another carrier and found that a Sprint bluetooth phone would work.

I really want the bluetooth capablity but can't switch from sprint since i have such a good deal (I have a Sprint v-60 clipped into the car now and it works great with all the hands free options).

Has anyone tried one of these adapters with a sprint phone? Did you lose any functionality?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

the phone itself only works if it's a bluetooth capable, otherwise you cant get it work, I never heard such thing as adapters for it for phone that don't have that capablitiy

I think you are posting in the wrong board, try audio and electronics since they have very long posts about phone conections. You are confusing many things here.

Bluetooth is the method to comunicate with the car. This is indiferent of phone service company but not that indiferent to the BRAND and MODEL of phone you have. Some do more things than others, in other words they comunicate better in terms of features that become active when the phone and the car pair up.

With Mercedes, you have MHI (American) and UHI (Rest of the world) type of connection that work with cradles that you plug in the car where you later plug your phone (take the phone and put it in the cradle). There is a cradle for specific phones and not one cradle works with all phones.

The new thing for MB is the Bluetooth cradle, that you plug in the same place as the other cradles but you do not have to plug in the phone if it is Bluetooth capable. This will only work with Bluetooth capable phones.

Other companies sell adapters to your MB that promise to work better than the MB option, some do some do not.

What to get and how to do it is a personal option.

I am no expert but some of the people at the other board are very very good in explaining things.

Hope this helps.
