Help with 2003 E320
All,
I am new to the forum and am glad to be back in the MB ownership family again. I owned a 2000 C230 and had to sell it after our second child was born. However, I recently purchased a 2003 E320 SPORT and have a few upgrade questions for those more knowledgable than I.
I would like to upgrade the radio unit (COMMAND?) to the one with the navigation feature, which MB is telling me can not be done at teh dealer on that model year. I would like to stay with a MB unit if possible as the car has an integrated phone (V60 - see next upgrade).
I would also like to upgrade the integrated phone to bluetooth capable. Are there any current PDA-type phones that are fully integrated? What are the best ways of doing this upgrade?
I would also like to add IPOD integration. I current have an FM modulatin unit, but would like to have the UI controls.
Any help would be appreciated.

You can change out the comand as I have on mine. Works perfectly fine, plug and play.
I also have the 2003 e320.
I am not sure about the navigation and bluetooth.
You can add IPOD hookup through Aux but I believe you need to get a comand with Aux out.

I have a 2003 E320. Steve has installed a 2005 US-Spec Comand with navigation, MP3 and Sirius satellite as well as bluetooth MHI in my car. Steve can install just about anything mercedes every installed in a W211 and his work is terrific.

I have a Motorola V551 (Cingular). The phone book is available through both the Comand and the speedometer information screen. The test messaging may or may not work, I'm not sure. I never use it, but the SMS softkey in the Comand is not activated.
I am very happy with the performance. The sound quality is very good. The people I call have no trouble hearing me and I like that the radio mutes when a call comes in or I make a call.
There may very well be phones that integrate better, but I'm happy with this one.
