EURO delivery and pool cars

Other than depending on dealers, is there another way to get information about availability of a particular configuration? Just thought I post this for those that at a last minute have an opportunity to go over for a few weeks.

If you mean MBUSA, they'll answer with: Please check with your local dealer on availablility.

Do you have a friendlier contact?

Maybe that's the attitude of the current bunch running tourist delivery but I called them several years ago when I wanted a CLK and they told me just what cars were available. I then called my dealer and placed the order. I believe there is a whole new crew there now so they may take the easy way out. In any event, any MB salesman can contact the tourist delivery office and get just the information you need.

True, going through dealer sales is one way. Just looking to have another, dealer independent, way available.

Dunno if you mean to get the info or to buy the car. If you mean getting the info, why not go through a dealer (if you have one that cooperates)? I get a build sheet from mine that has EVERY option on it, including custom colors, materials, packages, etc. that are never on the website. It even has a trailer hitch option that I had never heard of. You can then check off all the boxes you like and they can order it. If you are going to order an AMG, you can even contact the Manufacturer directly, or AMGUSA for more help. they are extremely helpful as they understand the exclusivity factor and the desire to customize. The problem with that route is VERY little room to negotiate. Good luck.

All good advice. But sales is sales. Give a couple of options that may or may not satisfy the customer due to possible added non-customer wanted equipment OR click on page 2, 3, etc and find exact.
Part of what I'm asking is to take the salesman, the show room experience, etc out of the equation. Let the prospective customer see and then go and say: "I want this one". Gives more choice to the customer.

I spoke with my friend. he said go to the UK site and get a look at the options and codes. You can use them when you order. He also said you can call MBUSA's Euro delivery group and get the sheet. You can insist on not speaking through a dealer, but you will have to take delivery here through one.

Check your email. With a little foot work maybe some questions can be answered.

Which is fine. I would prefer taking delivery through the future servicing dealer as well as buying through them. Always helps a little when they can make something on both ends.
