I did this about 1 year ago on an 04 e .It was simple to remove the center piece but I did not remove the side pieces so Ican't help with those. To remove the center piece work your fingers along the inside of the bumper and feel for a tab that secures the center piece . There are about 5 or 6 tabs but find any one of them and push it out that will start the strip to pop away from the bumper next find another tab and repeat As the strip comes away from the bumper grab it from the outside and pull it off . The tabs are very pliable so they will not break easily but you still need to be careful

that's perfect, I only need to remove the center pcs anyways. seems like the center pc is held back by the 2 side strips on the ends? I guess this can be pushed out anyways? I have a new pc here so I can use that as a guide to where to feel the rear. Thanks

Off topic. matt55, how's the E550? Have you finished the break-in period and tested the 382 hp yet?

I do remember that I had to get a little space from the side parts but I DID NOT remove them but they are held in place the same way
