Its big and Grey!
Arrow My mom got the bug. She went and bought a new car..

06 CDI
Silver (no premium package)
stone interior
sunroof package/Power rear shade
6 cd changer

Will be added by the dealer:
DVD Navi
Wood steering wheel

I think thats it..

51K OTD (tax title and other dealer addons included)

This car was a Katrina casulaty. It needed a new hood/paint. No other damage.

I think she got a hell of a deal! Over 10K off MSRP!

My mom fell in love with my car when she came for a visit. We used to own a 1982 TD and she really missed that car. Right now she drives a 2000 volvo s70 and a 1983 380SL. (The SL is on its gonna be sold.)

here is a small camera phone pic of the car and my dad at the dealer in West Palm beach FL...

I don't want to be the worm in the apple, but do you have documentation that the only damage was to the hood, like from something falling on the hood? Do you know where the car was during Katrina? On a dealer's lot that didn't flood? Flood damage can be concealed, but concealed doesn't mean that it won't make itself known later.

there wasnt flood damage in West palm beach.

I wasnt there when the car was bought, but knowing my dad, he is very though when buying cars. So if he gave the the "OK" then it must have passes his approval.

AsianML, yea I changed my name. 2ManyToyz seemed very materialistic. (sp?)

Katrina casualty? Whoah, I hope that car wasn't flooded. Anyhow, congrats to your mom and I guess this means she'll be joining MBWorld with her son?

I overstated about a "casualty"

NO FLOOD DAMAGE

Total was $1600 in repairs to the hood and grill. I dont think she will be on. I dont even think she has seen a "forum"

2006 E350
I'm new to the forum and I know that CDI's are more than the E350 but why does it cost $51k. Got my 2006 E350 brand new out the door for $49k in San Diego.

Is @ Home
location also plays a role on how much a car can cost as well as the demand

CDI's are about 2K more than 350's.

Options on your car play a role. So does location.

2006 E350
Understood. This is my first and probably my only Mercedes. Not really into modding since I pretty much destroyed the last vehicle I modded. Stock would be the way to go for me. You mentioned she got 10k off the CDI, wow, that must be well over 60k. I'm not rich but slowly learning the value of driving a Mercedes.

Check pricing for used CDIs in Southern California (they're not available new in CA). You'll find that they're selling well above $50k + tax/license with 8-10k miles on them.

The gasoline E-class models have had incentives throughout the country, but So Cal has had even better ones.

It's all supply and demand...
