E350 Tire Fitment question
Hi all,
Will a 285 fit on a stock E55 (W211) rear wheel? If so, will this combo fit the rear of a 2006 E350 that has not been lowered? Could I lower it if I wanted later or will this rub?
I know the stock rear on E55 (W211) is 265. I can get a good deal on AMG E55 wheels but the tire combo is 255/ 40- 18 AND 285/ 35- 18. The place is selling as a set...
thanks,
Anthony

I saw your pics before and the CLS wheels look nice... especially with your exterior color. Are you running the 285 rears? Does it make a difference if the wheels I might purchase are CLS or E55 double spoke? Offset?
I probably should just buy the wheels from Torreto (sp?)

Your speedometer and your odometer will be off if you use these. And the relationship between those 2 sizes is just as mismatched as the factory setup.

Its big and Grey!
offhand I am not sure of the offset off the E55rims. but my CLS rims are ET33 Rear & ET28 Front with 245/40/18 Front 275/35/18 Rear. I know many that have ran E55's with no problems, but I have no direct knowledge on the lowering aspect.
Thanks for the compliment!

The difference between the 255 and 285 seems very small... am I missing something? Doesn't seem like the front and rear are significant deltas...
255/40-18
Diameter: 26.0
285/35-18
Diameter : 25.9
According to calculator when speedo reads sixty... I will be travelling 59.3mph. This calc is for E350 stock combo compared to 285 setup.

Std setup is 245/40-18. You will need to use that number when calculating your error. Simple math doesn't account for all the variables when dealing with rolling diameter.
