You know you wanna...

Sorry for posting this here, but I think it gets lost in the large volume of "want ads".

If anyone would be willing to sell me the ski-bag unit from their W211, I would be MOST grateful.

In return, I'd also send you the flat panel that encloses the pass-through when there's no ski-bag attached.

While it shouldn't matter, I'll add that I'm located in Vancouver, Canada.

Bump!

Hmmm... no replies yet.

Nobody wants to make some $$ by selling me something they're not using? What's this world coming to?

Will it fit? Good question! What year is your CLK 500?

I do note that the part # for the 2004 E-class is "211 840 0062 9B51", and the 211 may suggest that the part is specific to the W211 E-class.

So, please let me know what year your CLK is and I'll try to find some way to determine if the part is similar or not. Quick question: do you have 60/40 split? If not, then I think we may be looking at different parts...

What does it involve?

First of all, it involves paying extortion-level parts prices in Canada. If you look up obscene in the dictionary, I think they include a picture of an MB Canada's parts catalogue.

In terms of converting, I believe it involves removing the plastic "cover" which fills in the pass-through hole, and then plugging in the bag with its attendant closures.

A 211 part could be used on other cars as well as 211 is using a lot of parts that were first designed for a different car.

I actually did not find the CLK ski bag part number but when I search for the 211 840 02 62 part, it appears as this part has only been used on a W211. So the CLK part should be different.

I wish I was able to take one with me when coming to Vancouver later this year.

Finding the part numbers in the first place is quite the journey!

Regarding fitting in the W211, I have been told that the part # 211 840 02 62 is for the S211 (wagon) and the part # 211 840 00 62 is for the W211 (sedan).

Yes, a shame you can't bring one over when you happen to be here in Vancouver. (Bring your umbrella, the rainy season is on its way!)

Good point. I wonder how different they could possibly be. I'm still unclear.

Perhaps the owner could have a look at his sedan ski sack and see if it could fit a wagon. I really don't know how different those are, just that the wagon sack had a different part number.
