What's a better authoring format to play video on the euro command

Are you guys burning it in 16.9 format or 4.3? My experience with my home theatre is that sometime when i rent a 16.9 dvd I get black bars across the top.

16:9 will usually result in a black bar on the top and the bottom of the screen.

4:3 though results in bars on the left and right..

Using [Zoom] in 16:9 mode, from the [Settings] softkey, expands the top and bottom of the screen (in either mode) for a sometimes better (and sometimes stretched) viewing experience.

To answer your question, I burn in 16:9. Bars on the top & bottom are preferrable to left & right.

The black bars on the top and bottom of the screen are put in there by your TV, or should I say the comand in this case if the video is not 16:9, assuming your TV is 16:9. For example if your video is 1.85:1 aspect ratio, and your viewing screen is 4:3, there will be some black lines so all the picture can fit into your screen.

Since I never heard of having a choice of burning 4:3 or 16:9, not sure what you mean. You can only burn at whatever your media is set to.

Personally, I always choose 16:9 because in the near future, when everything goes HD, 4:3 will be gone.

what the program does it change the format of what ever the original source is to the specific screen size you prefer and keep the picture looking normal. I just tested the 16.9 format and it fills the screen nicely
