New E320 or New CLK320?

ive posted the same message also in the New CLK Class page

my father is interested in a new car. At first we were gonna get SL500 but since we are a family (My parents, and 1 other brother) we needed something with back seats. We used to live in england and we had an E Class Avantgarde... it had all the options and it was a great car. We all truly loved it. Now that the new E Class has come out, my Father loves it alot. But he also likes the new CLK. And the last CLK had good back seats (enough room to sit in) and i heard they have more room in the newer model. He likes New E but me and my Mother would prefer if he got a CLK320. And i checked on the MBUSA site, and for all the options we had on the avantgarde E (and also a navi system) it is cheaper to get them with the CLK then with the E. What do u suggest we do?

sorry i didnt write it well but i was just typing down everything, i hope u understand

i think you should test drive both and make that decision.

without a test drive, i would go with the E500...or even settle with a E320.

The new E is more a "fathers" car than the CLK320...
But thats subjective of course.

Omg. Now that's a hard decision man! Seriously... I would have to test drive the cars more then once to pick which one I like better. The E320 is such a nice car. Has lots of room in the back and very comfortable all around. The CLK320 is also such a nice car heh. Not having the b piller makes it so damn cool. For a younger person, I would probably go for the CLK320. Though if you dad is going to drive it almost always, then go for the E320.

go for the E instead of the CLK

Being the owner of a brand new CLK, this might seem weird but let me explain why your dad should go with the E.

I used to drive my dad's 92 E and let me tell you, it's a great car. He's got a 2002 E now, and he's very very happy and comfortable in it. My dad is in his mid 50's and my mom in her early fifties. They like the look of my CLK and my SLK before that, but they just don't feel right driving those cars. They prefer the bigger, more stately, E.

Me, being in my late 20's, love a sporty little car that's fun to drive in cramped areas such as Manhattan. The SLK was great for that, but the new CLK (only been 4 days and 1 night in Manhattan) so far seems to be a nice mix of the SLK and the E. The ride is much smoother than the SLK, though not as sporty. However, the car feels lighter and much more maneuverable than the 2002 E.

Whether your dad picks the E or the CLK, he'll love them both but I think he'll be happier with the E. If you want a detailed comment on the new CLK, see my post in the CLK forum.

Good luck.
