this is perfect. I was going to go on here to post a thread for this exact problem.
I finally got around to installing the rear springs (front springs was installed 1 month prior) lots of time to settle.
Even with a brand new springs installed the rear had the perfect fender gap but the front have 1.5 finger gap.
I didn't think there are spacer for the non-sports in the front are there?

2001CLK: Is yours a sport or non-sports model?
This is really odd. So I'm not the only one with this problem.
Even though your front looks lower than ours, it does seems to have more gap than our rears. I don't recall any pads when I removed the springs. There is only that 1 pad that the springs sit on, I think it's more of a bushing/dampener. If that's removed or get any thinner it might squeak.

[QUOTE=2001CLK;1777528]hmm.. your front seems a bit high.. I think you need to remove some pads.
Here's a few shots of mine.
H&R's 1 Pad Insert (18" Wheels) non-sport
sweet... can u explain wat the hell a spring pad is.. and where its located.. how hard is it to remove?

just bumping this thread to see if anyone has found a solution to this problem? I just installed h&r springs today and the front fender-well is the same size gap as what i had before (amg sport package springs).....about a 2-3 fingergap....
the rear gap is even with the tire (im running 19's)....
