Is this a good deal? 2006 E500

I am planning on buying my neighbors 2006 E500 tomorrow. I am buying it for $52500. It is fully loaded, black on black, premium 2 package, nav, savini SV3 wheels yada yada yada. It only has 7400 miles on it and is in premium condition. Can anyone give me some feedback? Thanks

I don't know how much value YOU put in the 23"s, but i think the price is too high. Ask what the MSRP was and go from there. When we were getting our 07, we were offered $12k off msrp of a 06 E500 that they still had on the lot. from what the salesperson said, there was still more to take off if we were interested.

So are you saying we could get a new 06 model with an msrp of about 64K for around $50K? That's too good, aren't used ones sellin for that much?

That's what I'm saying we were offered as the opening price off sticker and what the salesperson said. I don't know about your dealer or the cars left where you are.

Sorry it should have said Savini SV3. Wheels. They are 20 inch wheels not 23.

The MSRP on this car was about $68k when it was new.

A car with more than 5K miles cannot be sold as new. This is a used car and as such the price should reflect that. With in mind, when I got my E500 a couple of months ago I got it for $52K with 900 miles on the clock and what is equivalent to a P1 package.

Right now, there is $7K cash back to dealers on '06 E500's. Ask to see the invoice for the car you are interested in. Don't take the dealer's word for it. Then take $7K off of that invoice before you start to negotiate.

There is $5K cash back on E350's and $3.5K on E320 CDI's.

When I bought my '04 E320 at the end of the model year, the salesman emailed me a copy of the invoice and immediately offered $1.5K off that which is what the cash back to dealers was at that time. I could have probably got more.

Why buy a used car for the same money or more than a brand new one?

Price seems ok to me also. Given 7000 miles it is a Used car and if it is in the condition you stated propably a ok deal. Jim
