Best spark plugs money could buy for any car. A bit expensive but well worth it.

NGK also makes iridium plugs that are quite good, and their "double" platinum plugs for W211 are around $14/ea in the auto parts stores. I went with their single plat which were $3.50/ea -- work great.

Regards

I have been running NGK Iridium in my corvette and they have been working well. I have also driven the car on the "track" with no issues from the plugs.

One thing I did notice was the iridium tip which is very small about the size of this (.) was missing from 2 of the plugs at 40,000 miles. I don't run them 100,000 as advertised but change every 35 to 40K miles. Jim

Jim,

I don't run my 100K plugs the full duration either, and I changed them out at 52K. Although the manufactures claim that all their plugs have a coating on the metal parts to prevent seizing, I still pull them at 50K -- a small cast for peace of mind.

BTW, I remember reading a post on another forum where a guy was saying that the small electrode disc on one of his plugs came off and was lodged in the piston rings.

Regards,
paul....

Paul you are right this could happen. I don't know where the iridum disc went that was missing from my plugs. There were 2 of 8 missing disc. My fear is they made a nice vertical slit in the cyl. walls.

I hope not -- maybe they just got blown out the exhaust port and are lodged in the cat conv.

paul...
