WTB snow tires for 2006 E350
I am interested in buying a set of wheels and snow tires for our 2006 E350 4matic. We currently have factory wheels and 245 45 17 tires. I would like to keep the same size.
You can send me an email at mark.sivin@ey.com or send a PM. Thanks

All seasons should be decent for the first 8,000 miles of life. After that, they are truly substandard tires in snow and ice. All season tires are a true compromise in winter performance and dry performance, especially when the tread wears down a bit. They are a Jack-of-all-trades but master-at-none.
All my cars have a separate set of tires and rims for summer and winter. I feel much safer that way even with AWD cars.

To fully use your 4-matic, get a separate set of rims and tires. I like Bridgestone Blizzaks. They are quiet and wear well, good traction.

As was stated in an earlier post, dedicated snows are significantly better than the all season tires. Generally speaking, you can get by with all season. The difference between the two tires are noticeable.
Any thoughts on tire size. I have the 245 45 17s now. If I go with dedicated tires/rims, I see some have 225 55 16s. Do they fit a 2006 E350 4matic?
