another question about the shift boot...

does anyone know if its possible to replace the shifter boot? i prefer the look of the previous model. the shifter boot is the leather boot or skirt around the bottom of the shifter.

I've got agree with you there. When I took an E500 out for a test drive, I could kind of feel the old-notch pattern underneath the boot but couldn't see it. It felt sorta unnerving.

IMHO I actually think the new boot design looks more sporty,

I think the conversion would be very hard to do-who knows what you are going to come across when you remove the leather boot.

Funny that many people thought that new E class has a manual when saw the new boot. I agree that it looks more sporty. So, I'd prefer to have a selection of boot trim.

It should work except for the buttons at the base of the shifter. If you don't have those, it looks like a direct swap.
