Looking around for information on the next E class (W212) I found these pics:

EDIT: This seems to be a repeat....well, they still look good no matter if they are real pictures or just illustrations.

 

Probably a fake, but a good one. I'd expect it to take a lot of cues from the 07 S Class. I like the S, but I like the W211 better.

these pics been around for a while, seems possible, but please those lights...just scream Honda and now Hyundai

 

here my take; MB is going to try to make it look sporty..

but If the s-class makeover is any indication, with rounded wheel wells and a bangle butt, its not a good indication.

Also judging from the S-class, MB wil definetly up size the car and give it more presence, fix the complaints I had with the current version.

Then it will be a great car. So make it stand out more, but not LIKE they did with the s-class.

 

The E is their bread and butter so I'm sure it will be beautiful. It will be classy. It will be elegant but sporty. It will appeal to the masses!

I don't see any of those features in the pictures you have presented us with so I can't imagine any of those are it. I was told by my dealer that the new E will be realeased in 2008...can't wait!

 

sgaar, you do know that those AREN'T pictures, right? They're computer-generated renderings. The next E-class may look nothing like those images, so don't get your hopes up (or down).

Edit: I'll add my opinion that these are not accurate representations of the next E-class; note that MB has totally abandoned quad headlights on the new S-class and CL-class.

just a thought.. these photos cropped up in around jan-feb of this year and if you notice, the front bumper is sportin the point like the 07 w211 bumpers.

Anybody know when it was first known about the pointed bumper on the 07 w211. Would be interesting to note that if it was after this photo made its first appearance then that might lend some credibility and validity to these photos as being a legit direction and not some photochop job

The next E-Class won't arrive until the 2009 or 2010 so all those are just guesses at this point. Until we start seeing prototypes the real shape can't be known yet.

I don't like the headlights at all. That was one of the primary things that attracted me to the current model.

 

The Conventional Wisdom is that the W212 will appear in 2009 as a 2010 mode. Only DCX knows what it will look like at this point, and they ain't talking yet. The usual slow but highly choreographed next-generation strip-tease (of leaked "artist's conceptions", "concept car" at the shows, heavily-masked "test cars" on some test track, and lightly-masked "test cars" on the road) won't start for at least another year.

 

It will be a taxicab!

 

I was at the Unterturkheim test track in July and saw the next generation C-class and Dodge Sprinter (both disguised) and the new CL (not) but nothing that looked like a new E-class.

Unless it was the W211 with taxi light on top being driven around at very high speed!

 

Yeah, I guess the new E's to come out in the future look okay, and would grow on me, but I have to get a new car fast. I have sank over $3,000 in stupid repairs this year alone into my "aging" 300 SDL. Definitely wish I had bought the 320 cdi before I sank the money last year into a new paint job at MB.

 

the front looks good in the computer generated pics but it looks like a saab in the back

 

the back makes it looks classy.....actually reminds me the aston martin cars

 

The front is not so bad, look like cues from the Lexus GS but the rear definitely has to go, it looks too much from the Hyundai Sonota tails, I don't like it, Perhaps it's a good idea i shoudl get the 07 now instead of waiting for the W212, since that just killed my wait.
