Well, if I drove 66,000 miles in two years, I would appreciate the comfort-of-the-womb, silence-of-the-tomb ambience of the LS460 myself. Anyone who spends that much time behind the wheel can benefit from a rolling sensory deprivation chamber like that.

It is a great toyota though! I loved the Benz but wanted something bigger. The A8 doesn't do much for me nor does the S due to the flared wheel wells and the 7 is approaching redesign. Plus, the new LS looks really nice and is a great luxo cruiser.

I will be back to the Germans soon. I am first on the list for the 2009 BMW 7 and I can't wait!

I really like the new LS. I'd rather have the S8 but not for another 30 grand!!!

Gl with your new car and on selling your E.

Anyone been seeing that Lexus commercial that shows the LS parallel parking by itself???..... Whats up with that???
Is this the future of our cars or is the typical LS buyer so old they can't drive???? L.O.L...

Hey, I am only 29 But you are right, most are older. I was invited to a special preview of the LS and everyone was thinking that my wife and I were kids. 45 and up was typical.

I don't think that most cars will ever offer the advanced parking system. However, if it works well, the high end ones will probably put it together as an option. I don't expect it to be standard on any car (even the LS) for at least 15-20 years (even Navigation isn't standard on a Lexus LS yet). It is pretty neat technology though.

LOL - I'm 47 and still not old enough for the LS. If I needed a big comfy cruiser it would probably be 1st on the list.

H-O-H - BMW is testing the "self parking" car too. You know that M-B can't be without it now.

I'm lucky in that my wife is very good about never curbing the wheels on any of our cars but I know that plenty of guys aren't blessed with a woman such as mine.

Personally I doubt I would order that feature but it is kind of neat.

When I'm 80 though... (provided I'm still above ground) I'd probably love the self parking thing.

Re the parking system, Its currently available on Toyotas in Japan. Lexus has said on TV that they expect to make it available on lesser cars in the next year or so. The system has many drawbacks, won't work on an incline, will not get as close to the curb as necessary in all cases and you must have 5 feet min distance beween your car and the cars in front or back. The final "touches" of parking must be done by the driver.

I do like the town car in some ways but never really wanted to own one. I am very strange that I need to own a Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Lexus or Audi as they are the ultimate cars in my mind. I think the LS460 is also better polished than the Town Car.

Everything you wanted to know about self-parking Lexii, and more, in 2:07:

http://www.yahoo.com/s/421156

Unlike most online videos, you can skip the pre-ad. Wonder why the W211 in the next space was parked the wrong way with its hood up. I'm not surprised by the hood-up part, but parked the wrong way?

LOL! That is really strange since it is a one way street also! Maybe that is Mercedes the first attempt at a self parking E. Time to go back to the drawing board

I came from the LS comfort zone. I'm much happier with my E than any past LS Ultra's I've owned. But the LS 460 does have my attention. My first 6000 miles have been problem free, but if the E has any hiccups. Well, my first stop will the LS. I just wish it were smaller. I like the E's size more.

I am just the opposite, I wanted a bigger car as the back of the E is a little cramped and I like the feeling of a large sedan. I just feel safe, comfortable and cozy. What is going to be a bigger change is when I drop the boxster for the 7 series (F01 Model) in two years! Talking about opposites!

Good points, as are his reasons for going with the LS this time around. I can respect that.

The Lincoln Town Car is junk next to anything from Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, or Audi. Jaguar, Infiniti, hell even Cadillac all build better cars, albeit smaller in some dimensions.

The Lincoln Town Car has been discontinued.

You won't be sorry going to the Lexus LS series....they make great cars that are fun to drive. The best part is, you can drive them every day, rather than spending all your time at the dealer's getting the car fixed.

Seriously? What are all of the limo and chauffeured-sedan services going to do? Not to mention half of the more upscale, older population of the Midwest and Florida.

Ford will replace that segment of the market but I have not heard anything definitive with the model. Some speculate that it will be the MKS:

This is a market that is highly lucrative for Ford and it will not be overlooked I am sure.
