Grows better looking the 2nd, 3rd, 4th...times

I don't know about anyone else, but I generally can't judge how I will like a new model until I have seen it a number of times (except for our '03 SL which I loved from the first look!!)

I have now seen the new E on 6 or 7 occasions over the last month or so (since the salesmen demonstration cars were around). Today, I went to a dealer and saw one again. This time, as soon as I saw it, I realized that I now love the new look. The evolution to a more "coupe look" is really growing on me. The graceful curves of the side, unique headlights to this class, and the new wheels (both standard and sport) just really please my tastes.

I realize that this is a subjective issue. But I just thought it interesting that it is growing on me rather the opposite (i.e., the new BMW 7 series!!! and, unfortunately, to an extent, the new CLK-which I will give more time). I wonder if others are experiencing that as they see them on a number of different occasions?

I agree, I saw a black/stone 500 with 19's, wheels looked a little to pimp for me but the lines of the car are great. I have seen 6-7 CLK's and though I am sure they are a great driving car, they look like an ACURA CL-S. I saw a pic of a brabus CLK and that looked cool but in stock trim they leave a lot to be desired.

Same in here. It takes time to accept new model, especially 7 series. At first , I didn't like the car but now, the car looks nice to me. The rear light of 7 series is very beatiful when it is on (at night).

This car is going to be my personal car and I have a pretty flexible budget and would feel comfortable spending upwards of 80K on my personal ride. I think it says a lot when I'm drawn back to the the E. Although it is pretty tough to stay away form the Porsche store. I am looking at everything from a 350Z to a 911, C-class to an M5. I think its that good.

Good to keep an open mind. I haven't found a comparable sedan. Now, if you are talking more of a 2 seater or sports car----try the '03 SL500!!!

I find it interesting that, with the willingness to state negative opinions evident in this forum, no one has said that the E gets worse looking to them the 2nd, 3rd, 4th...time they see one. Any takers?
