I think I have made it very clear from the beginning that I own a E550 on this forum.

Why would you put a 6.3 badge on your car when you don't have the 6.2 engine?

I can see the argument that the AMG badge is on there because you have the AMG appearance package, but I don't see why in god's green earth you would put the 6.3 badge on your car.

Your car is nice already, there is no need to badge your car as the 6.2 AMG when it isn't one unless you are trying to fool people on the road.

 

Agreed. That just de-classes and de-values that (beautiful otherwise) car IMO. Sorry.

 

All the stickers are gone from the car now; it was the previous owner that put them on, and agree that thet look tacky. Those are 20s. Yes its the 04-sport front with a 08- rear bumper and taillights. Looks suprisingly good.

mine are 19s....I should have went with 20s but I'm kinda glad I didn't because my tires would be so tiny. Plus I couldn't really find any 20s i like. They look a lot better in person though and bigger than the pics slightly. These are reps and didn't cost a lot so in a year or two I will switch it up to 20s when I do the front/back 07 update. Maybe some different AMGs.

thanks mike vee. that is actually my dilemma right now, 19s or 20s..... actually my biggest problem is saving up for the wheels and tires, but i am still not sure what size to get. there seem to be incredible deals on 20 inch wheels and tires, but not much on 19s..... it looks like a lot of people are switching back to 19s instead of 20s.

Very clean!!! I like the older Mercedes looks. So very classic. Did you have to do a lot of work to get it back into shape or are you one of those who got very lucky and stumbled across a real deal?

 

Here are a couple of pic's of the Benz with 20" Lowenharts that came off my old S500. They are 20X8.5 et37 fronts, 20X10 et43 rear; with 245-35 fr, and 275-30 rr. No rubbing or bumping at high speeds:

 

Even though i stopped liking lowenharts in 2000...I still feel this could look pretty OK if dropped. The height now looks really funny. Dd you have air suspension?

 

Yeah, they are sort-of Old School wheels. The vehicle is on a hill, so the gap may look somewhat exagerated. I have conventional suspension with the sport package, but I am considering dropping the vehicle.

 

i really hate to be an a-hole...but you may want to consider putting the stock wheels back on if you do not drop it because that setup is just so ghetto and unappealing. i know that when i and everyone of my boys that sees a car like that we think "wow, ruined" not "WHOA COOL" Again just trying to say what maybe others wont and help out.

I got VERY lucky and stumbled across a deal. Found it in Columbus, Ohio while there on a Business Trip. All it needed was a new Soft Top, which I already replaced.

Who said anything about trying to look unique??? I just have fun playing around with my wife's car! My friend owns a performance shop, and I buy and sell used wheels for a lil extra cash on the side! Whatever wheels I have laying around with a 5X112 bolt pattern......usually go on her car for a couple weeks...LOL!!

What's really funny, is where I'm from a lot of the people you call low class ghetto Ballers from the hood roll stock E63's and 55's.....the ultimate low key get-away ride!!!!

Wife didnt know the difference till my dad said something.
oh well, Its not like I bought the car at Target so I guess I have to keep it



I love the new look of my garage.
The garage itself needs some paint but I am quite happy with the new upgrade.






I will post new pics next year with new wheels, tint, LED DRLs, and maybe one or two more visual upgrades.
But right now shes looking sexy stock.
