Winter Tires/Rims
Well I just sold my E. The trade-in was $22,500 at the Lexus dealership ('04 with appearance, premium and rear seat packages, 18" AMG rims and 70,000 miles).
I have a set of (dunlop wintersport) snow tires that are mounted on the 5 star rims that came on the appearance package that I now intend to sell. If anyone is interested please let me know. All four tires/rims for $500 USD plus shipping. I had these on last winter and they really worked great! Unfortunately they won't fit on my LS so I have to buy a whole new set
My email is: emaildanriley@yahoo.com

By the way, selling the E was really tough for me emotionally. All of us on this forum love cars so you can all remember what it feels like to let go of a car that you really loved. At 70,000 miles I spent a lot of time in it over the past 2.5 years. We went through a lot together.
As for the LS, I am very impressed with the car and happy about my overall decision but there will always be a place in my heart for my first Mercedes.

Understand your thoughts.
I attended the local Lexus preview of the LS460. Looked very impressive. Did you get all the toys.....referring to the parking feature. Amazing what technology is out there, even though some stuff I would rather do myself. Enjoy the new car.

Hi mjsbenz,
I am sending an email back, but am waiting for yahoo to attach the pictures (VERY SLOW!).
I didn't get everything (no advanced parking feature) but it is well equipped. I ordered Navigation, Backup camera, Bluetooth, XM, Comfort Package, Intuitive Parking Assist, Power door closers and power rear trunk and the Preferred Accessory Package. It has a lot of great features standard and is extremely comfortable. It is also a perfect size for front and rear passengers (which was a large driving force in my decision).
Yahoo mail is so slow at uploading that I typed this whole message and uploaded one picture and I am still waiting for Yahoo to be finished.

Sorry for the delay for those who have asked questions. Yahoo seems to have stalled so I thought I would post the answers here. Some of the questions were similar so I combined:
(1) Are they 17" OEM 5 star wheels? -- yes, the rims were shipped with the car as a part of the appearance package. Picture of the rims on the car above.
(2) Condition of wheels -- Very good,. Minor scratch on one of the rims but nothing serious. They look great on the car and are a great set of winter tires/rims.
(3) Approximate miles on tires -- I am not entirely sure since winter is a slow time a year for driving for me and I have an SUV which I deferred to but I would guess 10,000 miles.
(4) Any patches, plugs, flats or uneven wear. -- No and the wear seems to be about even.
(5) Where were they stored when not in use. -- Climate controlled storage.
(6) How did they handle in the snow. -- Very well, I would definitely buy these tires again.
(7) Pictures? -- Working on it! Sorry for the delay.

you should have put the 17s back on when trading the car in and kept the 18's... I would be willing to be that the trade in wouldn't have been affected and you would have gotten more money for the 18's.....

The 18's weren't OEM wheels though. Also, tirerack states that 17" is better for winter tires than 18". Best of all, the simple 5 star design makes these wheels very easy to keep clean all winter long.

I thought u stated in your first post that you had the 18 inch AMG rims. I was just making a commment that before trading in your E class, switch out the 18's for the 17's and sell the 18's for more money. I am sure the trade in value would have stayed the same...... 18 inch AMG's could be sold for 1k+..
