Man it looks good. It's like the S class body with a slanted E class front facia. It's very well executed. It was at my local dealer and I will pry further as soon as I have the time. One unfortunate thing thoug, as soon as I saw it (I saw the front first), the first thing that came to my mind was Hyundai Sonata!!!!! That grille has to go. For some reason, the proportions of the front chrome grille don't seem to fit just right. I'm sure (I hope too) Mb will recognize this and fix it. But overall, just from the outside, the car is very attractive.....and then they had to have the new SL500 next to it (I think it was the new SL500 - the 2-seater one). Oh my Lord (forgive me for using your name in vain!!!), I want that car.

 

I'd love to have an SL500 too Darkmann but it's hard enough paying for a new E500! Don't want to even think about an SL payment.

 

Forget the SL500.....was at the dealer yesterday and they just got in a Brilliant Silver SL55, one word "WOW."

 

What was the MSRP?

 

Its was $120k.......but they sold it for $150k, crazy.

Speaking of grills, the pages in the MB Brouchure for 10:28 p.m. show a silver Sport model with what looks like a blacked-out grill except for the chrome ribs. I think that looks very sheek. I have not seen that anywhere else. Is that just a picture of a pre-production model that was cut, or does the Sport option have a blacked-out grill like that?

 

It may just be the shadow/low light. It doesn't look that much different than the other pics except the chrome trim around the grill seems to be dark.

 

120 grand!!!!, you must be joking man, isnt that a lot, thats like 30 grand more than the reg sl, i thought it would be a 100 tops

 

My dealer checked the MB site for me on Wednesday and it said SL55 was $113,XXX.

Note this: there's a guy on EBAY selling a #2 slot to ORDER an SL55 (not including the cost of the car, just the right to order one) for $40,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

That's a bit much. But a year ago i remember seeing 360 spiders for $250,000! List is about $175,000.

lol, yea, he will have to wait anyway, and www.carsdirect.com wont have them either, because they get the cars off of real dealers, no one will sell it for any good price, i think the sl500's are still unavailable
