It keeps the HVAC going for ~30 minutes after you leave the car. Nice on really hot or cold days. I miss that feature of my W211.

but i dont see any indication that its been activated. Do i push the button after the car is switched off?

Can you list a sequence of steps? If that is the case it would be very good to have up here in seattle right now!

Thanks for the quick response.

Yes, once the car is off and the key has been removed. Press the REST function. This was discontinued sometime in MY '05.

It is a really great feature.

The REST feature (Residual Heat and Ventilation) only activates the blowers (at speed setting 1) and uses residual heat from the engine to ventilate the interior for up to 30 minutes.

It does NOT activate your A/C.

So, it may keep your ride warm while you make a quick stop at the Post Office during winter, but it may not necessarily keep it cool in the summer.

I believe\heard MB suggests this to be used freequently to avoid any issues that may cause the bad smell due to moisture in the ducts.

bad smell? I like that smell...i remember that smell from when i was a kid in my DAD's MB's.

So the REST feature is genius by all means! Used it last night and love it! Anyone know why they removed it in later models?
