HELP! Remove rear springs??

Im in the process of installing H and R springs but I can't get the rears out. I unscrewed to swaybar and the lower shock bolt to no avail. Whats the trick?

The fronts were really easy taking less than 1.5hrs.

Any input would be appreciated

Thanks,

W Cole

Alright, I got it figured out. If anyone is interested I'd be willing to write up a DIY. The E Class rear suspension is one of the more difficult I've worked on. On the other cars I have done all you need to do is unscrew the bottom shock bolt and the spring just literally falls out. This was not the case with the E Class.

On another note, does anyone have a diagram of the front spring pad placement? Do they go on the strut between the spring and the "top cap"?

i did the springs on my 996 porsche by myself with no issues. ordered the springs for the merc. started at the rear...gave up and sold the springs.
i also called a few places for fitment and as soon as they were told it was a merc. they backed out....glad you got it sorted.
