how to open seat "back cover"?

Hi ,

I recently hear some noise come from front passanger seat near the top. may be something is lose, I would like to open the back cover and check , would anyone help me to find what step I need to do this ?

I only need to open the cover , not remove the seat.
it's for 03 E500 sport.

thank you very much for the help .

Sure it’s not the headrest rattling because of seat vibration? This is a common problem. If yes remove the headrest (seat in flat reclined position, push out), spread the bars, reinstall.

Thank you for the answer !

But... I have difficulty to remove the headrest out, could you explain more detail about how to "push out" , do I need to release anything before I do so? because I worry I will damage the "motor"..

thank you again for the help.

Lean the backrest back, extend the headrest and then give it an open palm Chuck Norris style at the base. Then, slightly bend rods outward and reinstall.

Every time I look over my shoulder you’re there. Reminds me of the old days back in Brooklyn when the van with a construction company name written on a sticker only on the driver’s side door would park across the street …but the guys had clean finger nails and a suit on.

Is this also a common problem on other models like the W220 S-Class because I can hear rattling @ times, sounded like a license plate vibration from the outside, but checked everything and seemed fine! The noise is still apparent although i'm not sure where it is coming from seems like the seat? Thanks for any help!
