stall at stop lights
Just heard from my trusty mechanic that my 2001 E320 4matic that had stalled twice at stop lights needs a new crank shaft sensor. The part is about $114 and with labor about $300.
Anyone ever hear of htis problem before?

See if you can get a guarantee from him. Mine had a rough idle/near stall problem at stop lights and they changed the crank shaft senosr and it didn't fix the problem. Then they re-flashed the computer...nothing. Finally, last week, they replaced the EGR valve and that took care of the whole thing. It feels more responsive and quicker. Mine is a 2004 E320.

a 2001 e320 is not a w211. You may want to place this post in the W210 section.
