Changing Airfilters

ok... I'm a little embarrassed, but I need the quick rundown on how to change the air filter(s) on my W211 E500.

I figured that it wouldn't be all that hard.. the car is new to me (less than a month)..
so I started to figure something was wrong when I saw how small the A-filter was when it showed up! (Green) ... DUH!

I need two of them! So as I am standing to the side of East 52nd street here in NYC.. (temp 18 degrees) ... looking under the hood figuring it would be an easy swap.. got the baffle tube off ..and the front part of the plastic cover... and that is as far as I got!

any help would be appreciated!

Make sure when you go to re-install you hit the rubber mushroom headson the engine with the pressure clamps on the cover. If you mis-align you can crush the pressure clamps and the cover will not go back on so nicely.

so I should not expect to find any other clips around the back of the plastic shroud...?

None, just four underneath attached to the cover. When you pull it off, you will see what I mean.

thanks 02S430... I'm waiting for my second filter to arrive...should be able to sort it when it shows up!

are you part of the NYC MB crowd? do you know sleeperx (Frank)? great guy... just bought some PS2s off of him last night for my new CLS wheels.
