Is high temprature under the hood a known issue with 03 e320's?
1. Post a misquote from somewhere leaving the reader to falsely draw conclusions:
"2003 Mercedes Benz 4 Door Sedan "..."The car, worth $14,000 and only 31/2 years old..."
A 2003 C class could be worth 14K easily.
But wait a minute... Where did he state this was an 03 E320?? Oh my bad. He didn't.
2.Refer to a recall that refers to an issue relating to a completely different year and model vehicle:
"The 2005-'06 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is being recalled for a problem with high underhood temperatures
World-Class Recall: Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Could Catch Fire "
Is this a 4 door sedan from 2003?
3. Get so wrapped up in your story that your own facts don't agree:
"I was driving to work..." "I opened the hood and blue flames, probably indicating fuel line involvement, shot 60 feet into the air and burned the car within a few minutes, including burning into the passenger space compartment...."My boss, the Vice President of Medical Affairs at my hospital personally witnessed the fire..."
Not fuel. the lines are under a shroud and would have lost pressure if there was a leak big enough to cause a stall. try again, and where was your boss sitting? the passenger space got cooked.remember?
People should make sure these reposts are validated before spreading them around. That's how rumors get started and we already know how people just looove to worry.
