New E500 Delivered
Just picked up my e500 -- Black / Charcol w/ sport package, and ventilated seats. Drives great! ... Minor issues with a squeaky brake pedal but otherwise great.
E500 Styling / Features
* Great overall styling
* Low, aggressive profile
* 3 suspension settings
* 'Air' conditioned seats
* Awsome sound system
* Quite, powerful engine
* Smooth transmission
* Highly configurable trip computer
* Supportive seats
* Great back seat ventilation
* Great and quiet auto climate control
Some areas worth noting (i'm not complaining)
* The manual is almost 400 pages, it is 'Required Reading' on this one (trust me) and they do not fit in glove compartment
* The on board computer is an initial CHALLENGE but fine after a day or so
* You are constantly reminded of the options your car doesnt have when you use the computer and the telephone reminders are everywhere.
* Storage everywhere but not overly convenient storage
* Dual wipers (good), automatic sensor intermittent (takes getting use to)
If you are thinking about getting the sport package
1) the sport package is a GREAT deal
2) it looks much better / even better in person than in the pictures;
3) the aluminum / white accents look great on charcol
4) the LED brake lights are more subtle than you expect (you dont look like a 16 YO street racer when you brake.
5) the blue tint mention in the package is not noticable or does not exist
6) the wheel and tire profile is great
7) Standard Xenon lights
E500 vs E320 Decision
* Engine -- V8 vs V6
* Wheels -- 17" vs 16"
* Exterior -- non difference
* Air adjusted suspension vs 'non air adj suspesion
* Full leather vs Full leather option
* Non charge for Metalic Paint vs Charge for Metalic Paint
* 1000 Gas guzzler tax vs non guzzler tax
* $600 lux tax vs 300 lux tax
Finally (my porsche dig), i was inches from a new 02 Porsche 996 before buying the E500. The 996 was $5,000 more, 20 MPH faster on the top end, 1 second faster in 0 - 6 BUT LACKED full leather seats, power seats, on board computer, a decent sound systems, cargo space, a reasonable back seat, and the list goes on ....

Congratulations skymast!!!
It is a great car and you will like it even more with time. I have owned mine now for exactly a month and I am still to figure out that blue tint that supposedly comes with the sports package.
