E320, fan noise?
I notice on my new E320 that the fan tends to be on hard and therefore generates a lot of noise. I notice this in compariosn with my previous car (2001 C320) which was very quiet.
Set to 22 degrees C, and outside it's 14-25 degrees. And yes I have it set to auto, and all the vents open/half open as recommended in the manual.
Great car btw.

You're right. The first thing I noticed when I climbed in my new E is that the air conditioning is louder than in my former 1999 E. I'm hoping they find a way to ratchet down the internal wind noise soon.
I was also somewhat surprised - read disappointed - to discover that the standard E 320 air conditioning no longer has a sun sensor and no longer vents hot air trapped in the air tubes upon start up before trying to cool the interior. There is a definite loss in the level or sophistication in the air conditioning system all around, I believe.
Nice car, though.

Mwillems, my salesman lends me his sales training manual. In there it mentioned all Canadian E is specially equipped with a cooling amplifier (code 919), with stronger AC condenser, large displacement AC compressor, high performance suction fan with stronger motor as std, and modified climate control software to support increased cooling capacity. Don't know why a nordic country like Canada needs a cooling amp
Maybe we are born to withstand cold so MB adds this so we drive cool.
That may explain why your E has a louder fan noise than your previous C. I check my C and the door sticker does not show code 919. Your C didn't have it either.
In any case I suggest you do a peer comp with other Es and see if your noise is abnormal.
