Mp3 Cd
Is there a way for the COMAND system to read the folders on my MP3 cd? I made a cd that has about 10 folder but the system just went song by song and didn't let me go in and out of folders?

Mine maintain folders while in the single CD slot, but not when in the changer.

First, Read the Manual, it is all there.
Second, search the forum, it has been discused many times
Third, if you do not do this you will get flamed. Talk from experience, see link below.

Folders are only separated when in the single slot.

Gotta check this out in the morning as I was sure that the single slot in my car was a blank, because I had the changer.
Or is that only true for newer models than my '04 ??

Blows your mind, doesn't it?

OK, now that I know I have an operational single slot cd it appears, after searching the forums that '04 requires a command software update in order to play MP3's.
I imagine dealers haven't done this as a matter of course ,when a car is in for service, but that it has to be requested?
I aslo suspect that the newer NAVI discs (ie 2005.3) don't do that update either , when they do their so called upgrades?
A thread from 10/06 indicated an Command update : DTB #P-B-82.60/382A, operation #5410.
Anyone know if this is still current ?

Burned an MP3 CD this morning and it worked in the single slot palyer perfectly, displaying all the folders and songs.
Now I'm curious if any of the NAVI DVD updates do this as well. Only because the previous owner leased the car and
I can't picture them asking for that particular stand alone update to the Command. Anyone know for sure ?

Its wild how the Single Slot & The Changer take the same info on the disk & display it differently. My Changer displays NO folders but Does display Song Names in Mid Screen & My name for the CD at the top of the screen... it lists 1/99 at the very bottom of the screen.
The Single Slot displays weird folder numbers followed by a period & random symbols or ASCII Characters at the top of the screen, and some sort of a track number at mid screen where song titles would be, whether I burn with Nero or RealPlayer Plus (a $19.00 charge that will burn MP3s on any computer with RealPlayer that I log onto within RealPlayer.)
Anybody getting Folder Names & Song Titles? From which cd player?
