Question about ECU Reset - 2007 E350
I have a question regarding the ECU reset for the tranny. I have a 07 E350 sport with 3000 miles on it. Wife's been driving the car most of the time and I noticed that it does not have that pick up or shift like it used too. She drives like a snail so I'm sure that the car adapted to her ways. I've read the threads about the ECU reset (on this forum and others) and some stated that it also modified or might modify other things. Is this true? Anyone tried this on a 07? I just want to make sure before doing this. Thanks for your input.

1. Turn the ignition key to the on (not start) position.
2. Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for five seconds.
3. Turn the key to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal.
4. Wait at least two minutes for ECU to reset..
This will reset the ECU and the adaptive gearbox. You will notice and different shift pattern.

I am not sure if the key is like BMW.. But you might want to designate 1 key for your wife and 1 for you. On my BMW the key stores driver information like fav radio station, temperature, seat position, and driving habits.

What do you mean by 'anything else'? The 4 steps above will reset the ECU and the gearbox and nothing else. If you are thinking about something like mirror position etc. then it is not touched nor is anything to do with COMAND.

Yes that's what I meant by something else, mirror positions and such. Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try.
