Part numbers are different for Genuine Mercedes items.

If you're talking Thule or Yakima, they'll very likely work.

I have w210 cross bars and they fit. The front one takes a little coercing since it's a tad bit short, but it'll work. I like it better since it's lower in profile. That way when I have my Thule carrier box up top, I can fir in my low-overhead garage. The W211 racks are about 3 inches higher overall.

how much coercing? I can see how the lower profile would be much nicer... from what I can tell... you can't lock the 210 series? might you have a pic or two? thanks,

The lower profile is indeed much nicer. It seems more aero dynamic and looks cool when there's no rack up top.

As for installing them, the one in the rear fits perfectly, since the rails are closer together in the rear than they are in the front. For the front one, I had my wife press down on the cross-bar in the center which helped to enlongate it a little while a screwed it down. It takes a little muscle but not much. Once it's screwed down, it's got no where to go. And no, they do not lock.

By the way, if you install the front cross bar closer to the rear, they fit perfectly. It's only a little tougher when installing them near the sunroof and forward.
