E55 exhaust template......

Just bought a pair of E55 mufflers w/tips. Its going on my E500, I was just wondering if anyone had a template to cut out the space needed to fit the tips ?

The one you want is available from MBenzNL or Mark Cummins. Before you hack away like I or CalBenzo did get the OEM trim piece which includes the cut out template. Unfortunately it works on most but not all W211 rear bumpers. Look at the rear of your bumper, you should see the cutout area already defined for you. Just add the trim kit.

Well I have an 03 E500 with the sport package. Can I still use the cutout idea or will I have to replace the bumper ?
As far as the "trim piece", are you talking about the gray piece that goes on the lower center section of the bumper. If so, where can I get it from ? my dealer ?

And just for the sake of information, why are some of the w211 bumpers not qualified for cutting to fit this type of exhaust ?

I think you are screwed like I was. I have the 03 e320 w/ sport pkg. We don't have the pre shaped cutout area that will enable the use of the AMG trim piece. The trim piece you can get from MBenzNL but it won't fit on your car.

You can replace the bumper or do a cut out similar to what I did, CalBenzo did, and others. Consider looking into the trim piece available on the 07. It's the same bumper but with a cutout and a trim piece to finish off the cut out area. I have not checked into availability but call the dealer, it looks like it should be a separate part #. It may only work for single tip exhaust though.

I'm not too worried about the trim piece in that case. I just wanted to make sure that I can cutout the space needed to fit these tips without destroying the structural integrity of the bumper. I plan on repainting the bumper anyways, b/c I have access to all the paint supplies needed to do this in a proper manner.
Thanks for all the help though, I did read calbenzo's thread when he installed the magnaflow system, I will be very happy if mine turns out like his.
