Installed H&R's, right rear lower than left

I installed my H&R's on sunday. Took about four hours (with interuptions from wife and kids) with basic tools (if anyone wants install info, let me know. It was simple...sort of). Now the right rear sits about 1/4 - 1/2 lower than the left rear! Originally the left side had 4 factory shims and the right side had 3. I removed the shims all together. I like the way the right sits better, any ideas how to get the left side a little lower

since you have new springs, it's certainly possible that it'll settle to where they're
balanced equally. but i also wonder if you remembered to index the springs
into both ends (spring pad and/or perch seat)? with the W210s the lower
end of the spring must be positioned ....only one way within the lower contral
arm. do you recall such a requirement with your 211?

i've read of dissenting opinons on the viability of removal of the pads, e.g
metal to metal contact, noise, rust, accelerated wear etc. all anecdotal, natch.

Are you sure the springs got seated correctly in both the top and bottom spring pads? I'd take apart the higher of the two sides and make sure everything is seated correctly.

Also, your car actually had an uneven amount of shims stock? Thats really odd.. mine was dead even with 3 on each side.

Yes, the springs should only go in one way. The three shims he removed are made to be and cause no metal on metal contact.

I thought that the shims would be equal on both sides. But the right had one less. Thought it was strange too. I've owned the car since new and the rear has never been apart. Since the left had more shims, that side should sit lower, or at least even. Must not be settled in the perch! I left the final rubber shim on, just removed the plastic ones, so hopefully no squeaks!

Yeah I have an extra set of number one spring pads (the lowest ones) I have never installed them but I made sure they fit. I think they were like $70 from the dealer. If you want them I'd be willing to let them go a lot cheaper, PM me.
