Will 16" wheels fit a 2007 E350 4Matic w. (free, not AMG) Sport Package?

The manual doesn't say much on the subject.
The manual says to use the original 18" size. Unless there's something I'm missing, there's no mention of what smaller wheel sizes, if any, will fit. Has anybody gone down to a 16" or 17" wheel on a 2007 E350 4Matic Sport?
