03 E500 Tranny issues
Hi, I know I have read previous posts with people having issues with the transmission jerking. So far they have replaced the Torque Converter, Transmission & latest was Radiator. Now again, same problem, transmission in jerky during acceleration most noticable between 20-60MPH.
Has anyone had any experience of still having the problem after all the above work has been done? Think I got a Monday or Friday car here.

In addition to rectifying any transmission malfunction(s) has anyone thought to update the Engine Control Unit (ECU) software? P-B-07.00/28f FEB04 Addresses lack of power and hesitation caused by “two footed” driver (i.e.: driver depresses accelerator and gas pedal at the same time) type condition. Quite possibly the jerking condition you are experiencing.

Same problem here ! (Tranny)
I am having the same issues, I took it to my dealer, 03-e500
with about 80k on it, the tranny exibits a shuddering in several gears, the deal had the system flushed, and it is going away, they advised me that they have seen that same issue when the wrong DOT specified fluid is put it it will indeed to this, also if there is any water in the system it will do that same thing as well

I bought my Certified 03 E500 with 21,000 miles on it at a local MB Dealer in 9/05. It had 15 months of original warranty left and I also bought a two year extended warranty. I've only had minor maintenance issues for the first 19 months I've owned it except I just had the problem with the transmission fuid line break in the radiator and coolant got into the transmission. I didn't realize the problem until two weeks ago I noticed the car would shutter a little going up hills and took it to the Dealer indicating I thought it was a transmission problem. They replaced radiator and torque converter and flushed radiator and transmission fluids. It seems to operate fine now and my extended warranty paid for everything. The Dealer says they don't believe there any damage to the trasnsmission but I'm wondering if it might go out on me after my two year extended warranty has expired. It appears from some of the postings on this forum that this transmission fuid line into the radiator for cooling is a somewhat common problem and can ruin the transmission if not caught quick enough like mine was.
