Mudflaps, to be or not to be painted?

Any one have an opinion on the mudflaps and whether it being painted to match the body color (Platinum Blue) as looking better than the flat black?

Thanks,

My C6 is white with BLACK mud flaps. Had a previous yellow C6 with BLACK
mud flaps.

Getting a black 08 E350 Sport and plan to put BLACK mud flaps on it. Maybe
my opinion is starting to show. I put them on rear only.

By the way, if I read the brochure correctly, it says that mud flaps aren’t
available for the Sport. Is that correct and - if so - why? In any event, I’m
going to try to make them fit on the rear only because it gives the rear a
little bit lower look. (That’s why I put them on my vettes.)

I would NOT color-coordinate mud flaps with the car color. Black just plain
looks more appropriate.

jimm

On Order: 08 E350 Sport, P2, Black/black,
Parktronic, Voice, Bluetooth, Burl Walnut,
Split rear seat, Rear mud flaps

I say black. It just looks better, IMO. All of our cars have always had black rear mudflaps. I'm with jimm on this one, same reasons too.

Interesting opinions and feedback. Actually my wife agrees with the majority here, leave them black. But what I didn't think of, was only mounting the rears for the lower look [thanks jimm]. I had originally intended to mount both front and rears due to the wider tires and prevent road debris being sprayed up onto the body. But admittedly not "visually seeing" the fronts looking all that great. That's why I was considering painting them. Oh well.

Mudflaps, part II - rears only

Thanks for the suggestion from "jimm", on mounting just the rear mudflaps. The thought was that the rear mudflaps would provide abit broader stance, lowered look. And I must admit it has its merits, esp. with my wider/staggered CLS wheels/tires.

Any comments?

I have the black mudflaps on a Brilliant Silver car. I think the black blends in with the appearance of the tires and would stand out and draw attention to that area if painted to match the body.

Larry the Cable Guy's relatives probably have their mudflaps painted.
