How do you like the S430 now that new E500 is out?

.............I think the new E500 is a beautiful car. Smooth Flowing lines, beautiful interior and a 302HP engine. I wonder if the new E500 is going to cut into the sales odf the S430.

I'm sure it will steal some sales....but I think "most" S430 buyers are looking for space/size over performance.

i'm not sure about the s430, but i know that the S class has some pretty awesome brakes itself. i think they are bigger than the standard E class' and are vented....at least they look better

the new S430 (with the clear front lights) is getting the SBC braking-system as well as the face-lifted CL and the E-Class. and u can order the 4matic-system for the s430.

but, personally i like the E500 more

I know people want and expect different things from these cars but considering the price difference and all the improvements with the E, I would think it may have an impact on the S

There is a difference between vented breaks and cross drilled brakes. Vented means that the rotor really looks like two rotors sandwiched together with some spiral air scoop supports between the two sides. my E320 has vented fronts, solid rears. The E500 has vented front and rear.

cross-drilled are the holes you see going from side to side. For what its worth cross drilled rotors do not necessarily provide any better breaking than vented rotors only more fade resistance in track conditions.
