E500 Mesh grill ???

does anyone know where to get some material for a "Mesh Grill" for an E500? I was wondering what the car would look like with a mesh grill or material like in the lower air dam area.

Better yet can someone Photoshop a mesh grill on an E500?

I took my grill out and painted it black and reinstalled, it wasn't as great a look as I thought. There was just something missing in the visual.

You can get here: http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/gro...GroupID=SCREEN

I have a black grille and like it, although I did not paint it. It's flat and gloss black. I thought about the lower dam like you mention but never did anything. A mesh grille might be a little rice, changing the lower dam mesh may look alright depending on car.

Mesh Grill

Thanks for the link. I am just looking for a new look, I always liked black grills, but the right style black mesh I thought maybe neat as well.

Thanks

You ever make that black grille?

Anyone have picks of black E's with black grilles? I saw some picks of a black E63 with a black grille. It looked pretty sharp. trying to find where to buy the grilles too, if anyone knows...

Thx.

Never seen a mesh grille on a W211 and personally doesn't interest me. However, there are some black grilles out there - I've seen them on eBay, as is where I got mine. It was made in Germany but not by MB. Here's a pic not on a black car but close, the black grills don't seem that popular or to get that great of reviews, it's personal taste, just like you couldn't pay me to put chrome rims on.

Excellent, no complaints. Mine is actually modified from the one on eBay. I purchased the one on eBay which is a satin black and then disassembled it and my OEM grille (I had the 5 slat). I took the outer black satin part from the eBay one and the inner gloss black part from the OEM one and put it back together (it's only clips that hold it together, although does take practice to get apart). The grille is all black, it's just that the outer part is satin black and the inner slats are gloss black. Both OEM and the eBay parts fit together perfect.

I think if I went with a black grille I would want it to have the same clearcoat car paint as the vehicle.

I am not sure how it would look. I may need to experiment with Photoshop.

That's how mine is because I had my body shop paint it. At first, I wanted it to be matte black, but the gloss has grown on me.

My car has been in and out of the shop a lot lately so I haven't had a chance to take any pictures yet. When it is all done, I will put up pictures of the new mods.

I am looking for either a brabus rocket style grill or a black Strut style grill for my 03 E500 (*NOT CL STYLE, I love my Emblem on the hood!*). Does anyone know where i can get one? of course without paying $3,000 for an asanti even though they are fly.

I actually was thinking about doing that as well..but I wanted to paint the bottom mesh a machine steel color..or maybe chrome..I like the more aggressive luxury look.

If you are looking to see how the lower/upper grills would look in mesh...try asanti's website(and people please hold the ignorant remarks...I know whenever asanti is mentioned on this website people come out the woodworks to call it "ghetto" or other names). To see the w211 with mesh grill..go to http://www.asantigrilles.com/asanti/asanti.htm and click "models" tab, then choose "coupes and sedans" and then scroll to "mercedes e500". Then click on the first pic and it will give you an idea of how it would look(I personally do not like the line in the middle of the grill though)

**I just realized this thread is over a year old..lol..well I'll leave my comment..might be helpful**
