Are Chrome MB Wheels Covered Under Warranty?
I recently purchased a used E500 sport still covered under warranty. Does anyone know if, and for how long, MB covers the chrome wheels against pitting? Thanks.

The Chrome Rims on Your car were a add on item from the Dealer
Service Information MBNA 40/18 from Mercedes states Chrome Plating of MB Alloys is NOT Recommended.. But Dealers still do this to Improve the bottom line
I have seen SEVERAL sets of rims that were plated and had slow leaks at the rim bead..where the chrome plate process ate away at the rim..causing the leak..
Customers had to Replace the rims...NOT a warranty Item from Mercedes Benz
It May be covered from the wheel shop that did the work for the selling dealer..

Chrome wheel.
I do not think the chrome wheels is cover by MB warranty. None of the MB come from factory with a chrome wheels, all are polish aluminium or AMG rims. The dealer put the chrome wheels on, add extra few thousand to the sticker price, specially in Southern Ca. I did have my wheels chrome (cost $600.00) with 3 years warranty again the chrome (that warranty is between the plating company & me, nothing relate to MB warranty). Regards.

If your car is still fairly new I would find out who chromed them from the dealer so you can go directly to them in case of a problem in the future.
Do not use tire bleach or ammonia (like some window cleaners have in them)on the rims or tires. For some reason they tend to make the chrome peel in time.
