Mirror Damage - Repair Options?

Guys,

I got the passenger mirror damaged on my '07 E-Class. Apparently the only thing that seems to be broken is the clear plastic that covers the led turning lights. Any ideas on how I easily fix it? Can I just purchase the plastic cover and change it out by hand?

I thoguht that I would ask before I head over to the body shop.

Thanks.

You will probably have to pop out the mirrorglass in order to gain access to whatever is holding it in place. Its been awhile since I replaced my mirrorglass but room appears to be tight in there. You basically tilt the glass down as far as it goes and then insert a thin flat screwdriver from the top and just pop it of the motor. There are 4 snap fittings at approx 1,5, 7, 11 o'clock positions. HTH somewhat.

Thanks I'll take a look at it. Hopefully it isn't to painful.

One more question: Any idea where I can look up the part number so that I can reorder it?

Someone tried to steal your mirrors? Why would they want to do that?

Where do I place the screwdrive to do that? Between the glass and the plastic mounting, or somewhere in between?

Thanks.

They steal the mirror housings to put on other cars. Next time, someone is getting shot.
