E4 Package
I have just ordered my E500 yeterday, and yes, there is a promo on the rear folding seat for $100, but my dealer told me that this promo only comes with the rear split folding seat, but not the front pessanger one and it does not comes with the ski bag. So it is not exactly the E4 package.
I am not sure if my dealer is right or not, because on this forum seems like everyone is talking about the E4 promo, I am actually a little confused. Can someone alreadys ordered please verify this option code for me:
"Code 287 - Launch Promotion/Split Fold Down Rear Seat $100"
Is 287 means the E4 package, or for those of you who have this promo have a different code, please let me know so I can call my dealer to check. Thanks!

BTW, I'm still trying to find out if anyone really knows the story on the wood wheel....is my dealer trying to rip me off by trying to charge me $975 to install it at the dealership. He claims that they can no longer order it on Netstar, but they can install it at the dealership (I don't understand that). When I talked to MBUSA they told me they don't deal with the netstar system, they only sell t-shirts. I have seen multiple cars at dealerships with the wood wheel, so I am confused. The dealer claims these cars are ones coming in from pre-August orders when it was on Netstar.

A little off topic, but now i've read that the 320 will be repaced by a 350 in mid 2003. That really pisses me off. I'm pretty sure i'm either going to hold off on buying an E320 until then...or spring for an E500.

Also the E350 thing is one of the big reasons I decided on going E500 instead of E320. I would think this replacement would also make the value when you sell the E320 lower than what you expect as a resale on a benz....
"the fold down seat option will not be available on the E55 due to structural rigidity issues"
the e4 is a convenient option but for a safe reason, you may stick with fixed seats
this might be why we don't see this option on mbusa web site.
