Vin # problems
I have a 2003 E500 recently purchased. The car was originall sold by Glaucer Mercedez-Benz in Florida. The vin# is apparantly not in MBUSA parts data base. The dealers are only able to run a VMImon the car, but when they try to search for the specific details for parts the vin #comes out invalid. The service manager is investigating this issue, but has anyone heard of this before?

Hi there,
I just picked up my E320 from the local dealer yesterday after 2 weeks of repair (this was quite a bit of experience and with Konigstiger's help I got through it with great success! Shall post this experience separately) . One of the problems is the same as yours.
Apparently their computer system had some problems a while ago and my car's VIN number dissappeared on their system. I was told that they have now rectified the situation.
The thing is, my car and I live in Hong Kong so I am not sure if your case is the same. But it is worth a try telling them that.
