Experts, please help!
My questions...
1. Is this a good deal?
2. How much trouble will it take to get bluetooth added? The car wasn't pre wired for the phone, so I would be starting from scratch.
3. What are the common troubles that people have had with this car?
I have been researching on this forum for the past couple of days and have learned some valuable info...but I am looking to get some specific questions answered.
By the way, my past two cars have been a 2005 BMW 525i with sport and a 2003 X5 4.4 with sport. Am I going to miss the BMW driving experience???
Any help is appreciated...thanks in advance.
My questions...

Give condition price isn't bad but warning on after market warranty. I would get a USA warranty from Mercedes if available. Some after market warranties are not honored at dealers. If you decide to go with after market call your dealer to make sure they will honor that warranty BEFORE YOU BUY!

It is my understanding and I could be wrong but I think the MB dealer can do this for about $250. Call them and check. Get the VIN # to call the dealer and check service also.
3. What are the common troubles that people have had with this car?
My E500 has been relatively trouble free for 65,000 miles. Brakes wear out at about 30,000 miles. Be sure to stay with Michelin or Conti's tires. I have had ride issues with other brandss.

Never drove a Beemr,, but I compare to my C5 corvette bought new. East to transition from the Vet to the E500. Like the performance on the E500 close but not Equal to the Vet. The AMG would be a better match.

I am pretty sure that MB honors the warranty, but will call to double check.
Also, I called MB and gave them the VIN# and they said it would cost about $2000 all in to get the bluetooth installed. That seems like a bit much, so I might try and find an alternative. I am thinking about trying to get the price to $28000...if so, I am going to pull the trigger.
If anyone else has advise, please don't hesitate as I want to decide in the next day or to and in my experience...knowledge is king.
What's missing is a cradle for the phone and a box of electronics that resides in the trunk. Both of these easily connect to the existing prewiring. They aren't standard equipment because there are more than one phone offered.

If you want bluetooth, you simply purchase a third component (often called a "puck") that fits into the phone cradle same as a nonbluetooth phone would.
A dealer probably needs--besides installing the components--to "activate" them by telling the car's systems they're there using his "STAR DIAGNOSIS" tools.

Anything helps....thanks in advance.
Good luck. By the way I have not had a problem with my 05 E5004matic. I have not purchased an extended warranty as yet. I asked my dealer if they have a problem with Warranty Direct, a popular private warranty company. They do not accept/work with Warranty Direct, so check with your dealer before buying a non-MB warranty.
The reason that i switch to Mercedes cuz the new E550 has new engine and better handling (sports pkg) and better acceleration. Also, the interior design is way better than bimmer. (i own BMW 550I, X3) If you wants to check out my 2006 $67K 550I you will seen what the shxt that BMW is thinking about it??? Lots plastic and looks so cheap.....
