PDF for removing front door panels???
Hi folks
My wife left her handbag in the car and guess what, someone broke the front driver's door window to get to it.
I spent my last night trying to vacuum all the broken pieces of glass scattered all over the front seats, and in numerous places .
In know I have alot of broken pieces inside the door panel. Will be calling the dealership to have that replaced. BUT knowing the techs in the dealership, they will most likely not be detail to remove everybit of the broken glass.
If I have instructions on removing the door panel, at least I can try to clean up as much as I can so that when the dealer works on it, they will not be leaving broken pieces inside and have the rattling within my door.
Any help here???
Thanks in advance

just very quick and vague but should help..
you need a torx-10 /T-10 screw driver and a flat head
theres a panel above the armrest and there 2 screws there remove the tweeter cover and then the panel underneath it and there 1 more screw there
remove the door lock pin and pull out slowly from bottom to top the rest is clips and then un-clip the wire harnesses from the seat controls should be about 5.

If you or anyone else have the PDF, it will be most helpful
Thanks again

It's all in the W211 Service DVD, available from a dealer or at 800.for.merc.
For someone to send you the procedure from this is a copyright violation and it's not appropriate to ask.

Did you try this did it work.
So if a dealer was to print this and give it to a customer for information purposes it would be ok, but if the customer shared the same info with his neighbor its illegal? Let stay on topic he asked if you can help him not give him advice and guidance on paying more at the Stealership, its a car forum to share info and insight so we dont have to come out of pocket.

I intent to bring to the stealership to get the glass replaced. I believe you all will agree that many techs have been 'pressured' to get things done faster and they cut corners to save time.
I want to remove the glass pieces as many as possible knowing that if I rely on the techs to do it, there will most likely bits and pieces remain. The remaining pieces will cause rattles in my door.
Case in point, I had spent 2 evenings vacuming the interior, AND I still pick up loose pieces of glass. So, I will suspect the same applies to my door panel.

I for one have no advice, but rather would like to offer my sympathies on getting your car broken into.
At the end of the day it is not about how much it will cost (believe me the "stealership" will charge your for everything) or what was stolen, it is all about feeling violated and having your personal space invaded.
A few years back (in an affluent neighborhood) my parents had parked their car in the garage and forgotten to shut the garage door and some one (in day light) had stolen my mother's purse from her car.
Like I said... you just feel violated.
Good luck

Thanks for the kind words
I have been calling around at a few stealership, they want in the range from 460 to 550 for replacing the driver's glass.
This is really pathetic, robbed by some low life and will soon be "robbed" by stealer.

I have access to a WIS, I usually post as needed, it would be a monumental job getting it all on PDF (6GB of info), plus there is the copyright issues also.....

I would be careful with the prints, if you read it, it states "Copyright Daimler Chrysler AG". It also is from a 09/2005 copy, must be valid though. These can be found elsewhere than the official source too...
I see similar pdf posts often and find it very useful info for forum members. I hope DC accepts this (even if the acceptance cannot be anything official) when it helps their car owners to enjoy their cars (and the source does not make business out of it).

bear in mind that copyright laws have a 'fair use' clause, which allows one to
make a reasonable # of copies (of pages) for educational and personal reasons.
it does not allow one to make complete copies. neither do you have the
option to declare "...it's not for business purposes..." as an absolute defense.

The only copy that I'd make is on my hard drive, so that I didn't need to put the disc in every time that I wanted to look at something (it'd also be a backup in case something happened to the Original Disc).
Thanks again!

Here's an example of the difference between the real workd and the theoretical world
I don't see the big deal in what was asked here, nor do I see it as a copyright violation. No difference between this and loaning the book to one's friend. Once one buys it he should be able to do with it as he wishes, except for copy and re-sell of course.
