Key Not Recognized

Had my 06 detailed Wednesday. The detailed drove it into the bay and did his thing. When he was done, the key would not turn. It was not recogonized so Keyless Go didn't work. MB tech came out and told me to tow it the dealer. Scared me to death as the front wheels were locked turned a little to the right. They had to raise the front end with a 3 ton jack on wheels and then pivot the car on it's rear wheels. Then the wrench just pulled it up. He used a 2x4 wood block to guide the car up the ramp.

Do you think that killed the rear alignment?

He called this morning and asked for my other keyfob. He thinks the keyfob went bad.

Fixed

We tried my spare key and the car responded normally. So the problem was a defective key fob. The key fob doesn't need power to work, so the RF ID or whatever they use failed.
