Magnetic Heater valve E500 w/4 zone heat

I have read several forums about excessive rear heat for Mercedes w211 w/4 zone heat/Air. My problem is the rear console heat becomes extremely hot no matter what temperature it's is on. I can adjust the rear heat to Max and then to Min and cure the problem for about 10 minutes and then back to hot heat on its own. I have read that it is a magnetic heater valve that is the problem. Does any one have the part number and location of this valve? I'd like to replace it myself. Thanks for any help. Hot in Indiana!

https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w211/193896-c-gremlins-help.html check post 4. It is located in the engine compartment beneath the plastic trim at the driver side firewall, bottom of the windshield together with / next to the A/C expansion valve.

Could any of you explain this further. The 4-zone system anyways has a common heater core for front and rear. I understood from Richmond that it would be hot only in the rear. If so, how could it get fixed with the heater valve change? I guess I misunderstood the problem description.

I know the heater valves have been an issue, already from the early models that never fail, according to their owners (honestly, I did not have this issue at W123, W124 time, but I haven't had it with the later models either).

Actually I misunderstood the problem description, thanks for pointing that out. It happens when you’re multi tasking and I apologize.

I’m wondering if it could simply be the control unit in as much as no matter what rear temperature is set the heat is max, and adjusting max to min cures it temporarily.

In taking for granted that you’re adjusting the temperature with the front control module, what happens when you adjust the temperature with the rear control unit and any problems with A/C temperature? No expect mind you, nevertheless curious.
