ESP Part for 04.

Hi, I am looking for a ESP part number 033 545 40 32, for my 2004 E320.

I have tried calling body shops in the area even junk yards but the car is too new. The dealer wants alot of $$$ for the part. Just wanted to know if any of you guys know anyone who has one for a decent price.

Thanks

Since you are new here, you should probably be told that the dealer will want "alot of $$$" for any part you will ever need. Welcome to MBWorld.

If you have an 04 and if its under the warranty mileage limit your car could still be under warranty and you may be able to have a dealer install the part under the warranty. Curious, how do you know this part is bad and not something else?? Also I would never suggest that anyone purchase used electronic parts as there is no way to tell if they are operable or for that matter even compatable.

Thanks for reply's. The car is no longer under warrantly. Salvage title. The part is missing. I called few places out of state, and the cheapest I got was $1200 for the part.

If i dont find anything around shortly I am going to get it, but I was hoping to spend under $1000.

Well, with a salvage title a used part will probobly fit in with the rest of the car. I assume it was totalled in an accident. That part is most likely not the only thing that will not work. I can't believe though that a $200 difference will make any difference to you. When the car is back on the road if it ever gets back on the road it still will not be worth anything to anyone.

UK price £960, $1200 already looks cheap.

In some states there is no such thing as a "Salvage Title" if he registers it there, it gets a regular title, then he can later register it wherever he wants to with a clear title. Different state DMVs have different laws on the books.

Yes that is true, however its called washing a title. If the buyer discovers that the title has been washed and it goes to court it is considered fraudulent. I know a guy who purchased an exotic for very big bucks and that happened to him. He filed a civil suit in federal court and won a judgement. Following the civil suit a prosector got ahold of the case and filed criminal charges (again federal) The feds won their case also and the guy did some time. I do not know if he was able to collect on his judgement.

Sure the part number tells what it is: it is the ESP control unit.
