SRS Restraint System Defective message?

SRS Restraint System Defective message?
This just started happening to me, but ONLY when a passenger sits in the passenger side front seat. I am going to bring it in to the dealer. Any ideas of what it is and how much to fix? I think it is a sensor issue, but who knows...

'03 E500 Sport, Giant NRS Composite 2, Specialized Roubaix
Check the connections under the passenger seat to make sure they are all tight. It may be something as simple as a loose connecter that is jostled loose when a passenger sits in the seat. I read about something similar in a UK forum.

Well, turns out the seat sensor was bad....

New seat sensor, $450
MB labor, $300

Thank god for the warranty....

I had that same problem in my ML350. The guy at the service center made comments suggesting it's not that uncommon.

just an after market GM one since I can't get Mercedes'. It covers bumper to bumper except on MB proprietary parts. (like radio, air suspension, etc).
