is this dealer being nice
I was having a keyless go problem . it wouldnt open doors or start the car. I took it to the dealer a few weeks ago The tech stated I needed new door handles. They had to special order it. So this morning I took back to the dealer to install the handles. The SA ran my car's maintance history and told me the last time the car was service by a mbdealer was at 40k. The car has 48600 onthe clock now. Its due for f service in about 5k.The SA said since I have free maintance until 50k. They will do the f service now.

I consider the advisor’s recommendation commendable. The dealership is paid either way within warranty by MBUSA, out of warranty by you. The offer to complete the service prematurely at minimum cost is relationship marketing at its best.

Despite what the FSS system says, you can get free service at 10K or 1 year, whichever comes first.
I got it every year on my 2004 E320 with mileage about 7.5K.

update...
the dealer change out my door handles, and they do work now. however, they discovered my shift button is no good. so they have to special order the whole shifter unit , so i have to wait another 2 weeks .
When I picked up the car today i took a look at my FSS screen on the dash and it state 9998 to Service B. before it as on 13k miles service intervals.
Then when I got home I wanted to check the oil lever via the dash. it said.... OBSERVING WAITING PERIOD... I was like this is different bc plenty of times I checked the oil right after I shutdown the engine and there was never a waiting period.
I'm sure there is a few more goodies that I will find different in the up coming days...lol.

Update....
after more than a month of going back and forth to dealers. my keyless go system finally works.
the dealer replaced the 3 door handles and the floor shifter. I thought it was the button on the shifter that was bad. However it was the shifter unit instead. they reinstall the same shifter *** and button. Anywhere As long as it is working...
