Why would you have to pay for a car you won't first lay eyes on for another month and a half to 2 1/2 monts from now?!?
If its a deposit, give him a credit card.

You also neglected to say if it is a 350 RWD, AWD, Diesel, etc.

2007 or 2008?

Also, if you have any of the leasing info (MF or payments that would be interesting to know)...

Given the delivery date, I assume its an '08, and given the price, I assume its a 350. I'd say that's a very good deal, almost certainly below invoice. What dealer is this?

Yes, more info is needed.

I've ordered an 08 E550 nearly fully loaded w/ the 321 AMG Sports Pkg w/ an agreement for $500 below invoice. Still on the lookout for better

I assume you are ordering a brand new car that will come from Germany. It appears you have a deal well below Invoice. I wonder though why such a large deposit. I thought $1,000 was typical.

Could my age and location have anything to do with it? I am located in New York and I am mid 20's .

on mbusa it says 61,8k... on the paper that i have that has our "agreement" it says 60215 as MSRP

Which dealer are you using? I'd love a deal like that.

In 11/03 I ordered a very loaded '04 E 500. The PA Dealer ran my credit & took a credit card number over the phone but never charged the $1,000. When I asked him how he could order a car for me with no money until delivery, he said "Because I know you'll take it. It will be a beautifull car." When I asked what happens if I got divorced and was left with only my underwear and a basement apartment he said: "Se'll have no problem selling it."

I guess by now Dealers know what will sell in their area on a spec car, just by looking at their computers.

Hi,

I'm in NYC and getting a worse deal. I would be very interested to know which delaer is offering this. However, I wonder if the difference is related to the ordering process-- custom/delayed vs now. I would also be very interested to know if you are leasing and if so, what terms they are offering. I am getting a MF of 0.0017 with 64% residual on 33 month lease (10K miles/year). For comparison, my price would be about $63485 because of the rear seat DVD headrest system and ipod and bluetooth integration. This is including $2,000 off full sticker. Mine would also be without leather. I really wonder what is possible now ?!?!

If you subtract the DVD headrest system (3295), iPod (425), and Parktronic (1120) then mine is 58645-- without the leather. So it sounds like your deal is 5 to 7K better I need to negotiate... but maybe ordering gets a cheaper deal b/c of waiting?

EDIT... I also noticed that mine had a $710 charge for Iridium silver color and $350 for split rear seats. This might make up a small part of the difference.

If anything, I think you're less likely to get a deal on a car you special order. The dealer is incentivized to get rid of stock on his floor, plus when you order, he knows you really want that particular car.

The money factor and residual on your deal are good - doubt it possible to do significantly better. Price is the only element you can reasonably expect to do better on.

Although i'm new to this, I was starting to feel the same thing.... The MF and residual seem pretty good. The price is not really dropped much... but not sure they feel the need to on such a new model.... I wonder if the people getting the lower base prices are getting worse lease/finance deals ?? I am probably going to go with it...

It's easy to get caught up in deal-hunting and trying to chase the last dollar. My view is that if you find a car your excited about at a price your comfortable with, don't worry about whether somebody else paid $500 less. Get it and enjoy it - thought I still can't fathom why you're paying somebody several thousand to put in a DVD system in a leased car

I have no problem giving you the dealership. Its David Michael of New Jersey. Also, I am purchasing the car out right. I am not leasing or financing.

$3k - $5k mfr. rebate on 2007 E350??

I am also in the market for E350. I was offered $1500 below invoice by dealer today for a 2007 year. I have been told that there is a $3k mfr. rebate on the car if you buy and $5k rebate if you lease for a 2007. I was also told by a friend that he has been offered as much as $2000 below invoice for a 2007 4-5 months ago. I am in So. California and would appreciate any feedback on numbers.

I've heard of people getting $3k-$4k below invoice on an 07. Not sure if that was E550 or E350. I think it was E550.

I got $500 below invoice on a car I just ordered, 08 E550, due mid-Oct.

Btw, the deposit was $2k to special order a car, fully refundable.

Deal~

I ordered my 2008 in June w/$1,000 deposit. For reasons others have stated, that ought to be plenty. A good price is 5-7% off sticker for new model year Benz vehicles. More if 07s.

Headrest Video Systems

This is the system on display at my MB Dealer. It is "aftermarket", and a great source of profit.

Buy the car at the store with the best price. even if the difference is "only" $500.00, thats probably 2 years Registration, or at 1,000 miles a month. about 2 months free gas*! If you shop, the difference will be more. There's no shame in saving money.

I got my '07 E550 4MATIC for $4000 under invoice. I define invoice as the amount the dealer was charged for the car from MB. It doesn't include holdback or incentives for customer satisfaction but does include regional advertising. I probably could have whined and gotten another $1000 but I was happy with the deal. That of course includes the dealer incentive of $5000 that was supposed to have expired 7/31 but has been extended to 9/4.
The only problem with the '07's are they are in short supply, especially 550's. My deal, before tax and license was $60, 178, with a P2 package and $500 in regional advertising. Sounds like RJF is getting a great deal.

The 53k is before all the taxes ... i should have stiulated that.. does that make a difference. and the invoice number that I listed was the price they told me as "msrp" not what they pay for it..

I understand "invoice" on an MB is simply 7% off the sticker price. So 3.5% off sticker means 3.5% over invoice, etc.

If I do a build your own on an 08 P2 E550, I get a sticker of 65. That means invoice is $60,450. So $4000 off invoice would be $56,450. Damn that's a good deal. I paid 60 for a 06 E350 with every option. I didn't get such a good deal

An 07 E550 for $4000 off invoice is an absolutely fantastic deal.
